Clan Play Information
A lot of people ask if we will sponsor a server for their clan. The simple
answer is no, with one exception.
This server exists for the benefit of ExecPC Internet subscribers. Internet
bandwidth is expensive. It wouldn't be fair to expect ExecPC Internet
subscribers to pay for bandwidth to support non-ExecPC clans.
If your clan has a large number of ExecPC Internet subscribers, then there
is a chance that you may qualify for a special exception. In this case -
and only in this case - write to <quake@ns.sol.net> and explain the
specifics.
Even if we won't sponsor a server for you, you are still welcome to use
the servers, particularly if nobody else is.
The general policy for ExecPC clans is to allow each clan a specific time
(or times) each week on a specific server. The server will be programmed
to automatically switch to a clan-specific configuration during the
agreed-upon times, and a qualified member of the clan may be eligible for
rcon privileges.
